Relaciones actanciales en “Silvio en El Rosedal” de Julio Ramón Ribeyro

Abstract

Based on some models and concepts of Greimas’ narrative semiotics, an analysis is made of the story “Silvio en El Rosedal”, by Julio Ramón Ribeyro. In this paper we focus in particular on the actantial relationships between the protagonist, Silvio Lombardi (Subject of Desire) and the farmhouse “El Rosedal” (Object of Desire), through which the former manages to find and fully realize the meaning of life, through spatial and cognitive journeys.

Doctor en Literatura Peruana y Latinoamericana, por la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Miembro de Número de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua. Profesor principal de la Facultad de Letras y Ciencias Humanas de la UNMSM. Profesor principal contratado de la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Lima. Autor de varios libros de crítica literaria sobre César Vallejo y Julio Ramón Ribeyro. También, ha publicado volúmenes acerca de la interpretación de textos literarios y antologías sobre el cuento peruano. Ha  sido conferencista en la UNAM (México D. F.) y en la UAEM (Toluca), y ha participado como organizador y ponente en congresos internacionales en Francia, México, Ecuador, Canadá, España, Argentina.
