Tahuashando. Culle enigma in Vallejo’s poetry

Abstract

This investigation refers to the study of Culle words in Cesar Vallejo’s poetry. We, specially, analyze from the Quechua point of view, the origin and meaning of the «tahuashando» neologism. And, we consider a new explanation from the Culle language in the Andean Spanish of La Libertad highland.

Íbico Rojas, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos

Master of Arts, en Lingüística, por la State University of New York. Ha ganado el Primer Premio Nacional de Ensayo «José Gálvez Barrenechea» y el Primer Premio de Ensayo, en el Área de Artes y Humanidades, del Concurso de Producción Intelectual de Docentes Universitarios. Es autor de Estudio de lingüística general (1995), Teoría de la comunicación: una introducción crítica (2000), Teoría de la información e Introducción al estudio de la comunicación (2001), Origen y expansión del quechua (2014) y Saussure: signo y principios lingüísticos (2014). Tiene en preparación los libros: Lenguas como de fuego: estudios sociolingüísticos; Lingüista, curso universitario; Blas Valera, el primer lingüista peruano; Universidad peruana: reforma e innovación. Se inició en la docencia de educación superior en la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Luego, se desempeñó como profesor de Lingüística, Semiótica y Teoría de la comunicación en la Universidad de Lima, en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú y en la Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal. Desempeñó el cargo de rector de la Universidad Científica del Perú. Actualmente, es docente en las escuelas de posgrado de la UNMSM y de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo.
