Abstract

Starting from a proposal of Pedro Henríquez Ureña, about the cultural process in Hispanic America, the authors seek to relate the Dominican intellectual postulates from the propositions of Jose Carlos Mariategui, that are framed in a dialectical process of affirmation and denial, of continuity and change, as it happen with modernism on the romanticism or the tendencies of vanguard against modernism.

Vicente Cervera Salinas, Universidad de Murcia

Poeta y ensayista español. Su tesis doctoral versó sobre la clave lírica del escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges. Desde 2004 es catedrático de literatura hispanoamericana en la Universidad de Murcia. Ha publicado los siguientes libros de poesía: De Aurigas inmortales (1999), La Partitura (2001), El alma oblicua (2003), L’anima obliqua (2008). En ensayo es autor de los siguientes libros: La poesía de Jorge Luis Borges: historia de una eternidad. Murcia, Editum, 1992. La poesía del logos, Murcia, Editum, 1992. La palabra en el espejo. Estudios de literatura hispanoamericana comparada. Murcia, Editum, 1996. El compás de los sentidos. Murcia, Editum, 1998. El síndrome de Beatriz en la literatura hispanoamericana, 2006.

María Dolores Adsuar Fernández, Universidad de Murcia

Doctora en Literatura Hispanoamericana por la Universidad de Murcia, donde profesa como docente en el Departamento de Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura. Su actividad investigadora ha girado en torno a la literatura comparada y la pervivencia del mundo clásico en la literatura hispanoamericana, publicando en revistas tales como Ínsula, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos y Revista Iberoamericana de Pittsburgh. Es autora, entre otros, del libro “Los enemigos del alma en los relatos de Virgilio Piñera”, que fue objeto de su tesis doctoral. Desde 2007 es codirectora de Cartaphilus, revista de investigación y crítica estética de la Universidad de Murcia.
